With more and more people adopting a vegan lifestyle over the last few years, the demand for vegan products has also increased resulting in new opportunities for brands creating a variety of new products on the market. We at RICH Prosecco are constantly developing our brand for those who enjoy something, which is not only tasty, but also vegan and ethically friendly. We ensure that all our packaging is 100% sustainable so that we do our part in taking care of our planet! A luxury made convenient!
What makes Prosecco not vegan?
The use of fining agents is the cause of the Prosecco not being vegan friendly, there are of course fining agents that are not of animal origin – bentonite clay or activated charcoal are just a couple of alternatives. So make sure that you check your prosecco before consuming. The process is done so as our wine or sparkling wine and in this case prosecco can be clear of particles and not look so hazy to the eye. Also wines that have not gone through this process tend to be a little more earthy and some say pungent, which doesn’t necessarily appeal to the majority of palettes.
We believe our vegan Prosecco is the best of the best because it ensures a product of high quality. We avoid non-vegan fining agents such as gelatin (animal protein), casein (milk protein), albumin (egg whites) and isinglass (fish bladder protein) which some brands use in order to speed up the clarification process and although these addictives might not affect the taste they create an entirely different product!
At RICH we have decided to create a vegan Prosecco to not only keep our high quality standard, but also to cater for everyone and attract a new range of consumers in order to be available to all markets. After all, it would be a shame for anyone to miss out on our luxury, bubbly sensation! As of 2019, RICH has been officially certified as vegan; we now have the official trademark on all our cans.
